An Eight-Week Guided Journal

Closing the gap between what you want and what you do.

Most days fill up without ever being asked where they are actually pointing. The Direction I Am Choosing is an eight-week guided journal built on one honest question, asked in three short lines a day: what do I actually want here, what did today’s choice point toward instead, and what is the one small, honest step that closes the gap?

Across eight themed weeks, you look at one area of life at a time: work, relationships, health, a creative goal, boundaries, daily habits, a bigger dream, and finally everything together. Each day is one page: The Pull, The Pick, The Next Step. Each week ends with a short, honest review, and an overview page at the back shows the whole direction in one place. Nothing in it asks for a plan, and nothing ever has to be bigger than one small step.

Week 1, day 2 · an example entry

The Pull

I want my best hour to go to the proposal I keep saying matters.

The Pick

My best hour went on email and a meeting I did not need to be in.

The Next Step

Tomorrow, close email and give the first fifteen minutes to the proposal.

What is inside

  • Eight weeks, each built around a different area: work, relationships, health, a creative goal, boundaries, daily habits, a bigger dream, and everything together
  • A simple daily rhythm: The Pull, The Pick, The Next Step — three short lines a day
  • Six daily pages a week, so a missed day or two never affects anything beyond that week
  • A short, honest review at the end of every week
  • A final review of everything you chose to point toward, and a gentle page for keeping going after eight weeks
  • An Eight-Week Overview at the back, where you tick each day you showed up, plus blank journal pages to keep writing

This is not a life overhaul. It is a small, repeatable practice for anyone who has ever reached the end of a full day and wondered where it was actually heading.

After this journal

If you would like to keep going, here are two natural next steps.

The Life I Keep Postponing

If one specific thing keeps sliding down the list, this journal takes a single small task through a single week, then another, for eight weeks.

The Fork in the Day

To catch the moment a day starts drifting, The Fork in the Day asks you to name the path you are choosing each morning, before the day decides it for you.
