There are several versions of how today could go, running alongside each other like paths leaving the same starting point. Which one you end up living in has a lot to do with which one you picked first, usually without realising you were picking anything at all. The Fork in the Day is a month-long guided journal built to make that choice visible.
Each morning, you name the path you are choosing before the day decides it for you. At midday, you can catch a sign of which path you are actually on. Each evening, you compare the two. Once a week, you look back over the last six days. At the end of the month, a simple overview brings the whole pattern into view at once, so you can see how often you picked on purpose, and how often the day picked for you.

A day · an example entry
A slow start, then one hard task before I open email.

The Fork in the Day is the shortest, simplest entry in the series so far — one question, asked every morning and checked every evening, for one month.
