A New Series · A 45-Day Journal to Give Away

You notice them more than you have ever said out loud.

There is a version of paying attention that never gets spoken: the way someone got dressed that morning, how they made you tea without being asked, the small thing that made you both laugh. Everything I Noticed And Never Said is a forty-five day journal built to collect exactly that, in secret, and then hand over as proof.

Each evening, before bed, you notice one true thing about someone you love, however ordinary, name in one line what made it worth noticing, and say the same line of gratitude out loud before writing it down. Nobody else knows the practice is happening. At the end of forty-five days, you give away what you kept: not one polished sentence, but forty-five dated, specific proofs that you were paying attention long before you ever said so.

Evening 8 · an example entry

The Notice

He rinsed my cup before his own.

The Why

It shows he thinks of me before he thinks of himself.

The Line (said aloud, then written)

“Thank you for always looking after my cup.”

An illustration written for this page. It is not a reader’s own entry.

What is inside

  • A “Before Day One” page to name who the journal is for, your relationship to them, and when you hope to give it
  • Forty-five daily entries: The Notice, The Why, and The Line — said out loud, then written down
  • “The Last Page”: a closing reflection on what you are really giving them
  • Blank journal pages at the back, for a personal note or a handwritten letter of your own

Not a diary. Evidence that you were paying attention all along.

After this journal

If you would like to keep going, here are two natural next steps.

The Abundance I Overlook

Having practised noticing someone else, turn the same attention on your own days: one good, ordinary thing a day, named and felt.

The Things I Don't Say

For the things you have held back with anyone: this eight-week journal notices one a day and imagines how it might have sounded if you had said it.
