The Spark, The Fear, The Small Move

Now out on Amazon.

The Ideas I Keep Quiet is out now on Amazon. This is a first look at what it is built on. See the journal page for the buy link and more.

Most ideas do not fade because they were bad. They fade in the first few seconds, when a quiet voice says it has probably been done already, or that it is not good enough to bother writing down. By the time anyone could have judged the idea fairly, it has already been talked out of existing.

The Ideas I Keep Quiet is an eight-week journal built to interrupt that moment, gently. It does not ask you to finish anything, launch anything or prove anything. It asks you to let one spark exist on a page for a few quiet minutes a day, and it rests on three small moves.

The Spark

One idea, question or small curiosity that caught your attention today, however unfinished. Not the project you are still afraid to start, but the stray thought, the daydream, the thing you wish existed, the small fix for something that annoys you. On days when nothing arrives, the journal offers a few prompts to borrow from, so a quiet day still has somewhere to begin.

The Fear

Then you name, honestly, what you are afraid someone might think of it, or what it might say about you. You are not asked to argue with the fear or to win. Naming it plainly is enough, and a fear that has been written down tends to take up less room than one that has been avoided.

The Small Move

Finally, you finish one sentence: “The small thing I could try, just for myself, is…” It might be writing the idea down exactly as it arrived, giving it one sentence before judging it, or saying it out loud once. Nothing needs to be shared, shown or finished.

Across eight weeks, each week gives a different kind of idea room: a spark worth following, an idea you keep comparing to someone else’s, a small fix for something that annoys you, a question nobody has answered for you yet, an idea waiting for the right time, an idea you have never told anyone, an idea worth sharing with just one person, and finally every spark still asking for your attention.

At the back, an idea tracker lets you look across all eight weeks and see where each idea stands: still alive, tried in a small way, shared, or parked for later. An idea parked for later is still an idea you took seriously.

It is private by design. You never need to name an idea in full, or describe it so clearly that someone else could claim it, because a private shorthand holds just as much truth as a finished pitch. And if a day or two is missed, nothing beyond that week is affected.
